Definition & Frosted Glass
iOS Glass (often called Glass iOS) is the translucent, frosted-glass widget aesthetic popularized by Apple — semi-transparent panels with a blurred backdrop so the wallpaper or content behind gently shows through. The effect, known as glassmorphism, gives widgets a light, layered, and modern feel without hard edges.
Key ideas
- Frosted translucency: blurred backgrounds let color and motion bleed through.
- Soft depth: subtle shadows and highlights suggest a pane of glass.
- Light & airy: a clean alternative to solid, opaque tiles.
Why widgets adopt it
Android fans who like the iOS look use Glass-style widgets to get that same sleek, blurred aesthetic on their home screen. One Widget’s Glass iOS style restores the transparent frosted iOS visual effect, turning ordinary shortcuts and clocks into a polished, blurred layer that floats above the wallpaper.
